What are Service Charges?
The Service Fee is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, fees associated with credit card processing, length of reservation, and unique characteristics of the group experience. It also allows us to continue working with hotels to get you the best possible deals, as well as allow us to split the payments and create the full trip.
When will I be charged for my booking?
All charges occur immediately upon booking your reservation for non-refundable bookings. However, for refundable bookings, payments will be processed 5 days before check-in. If you are booking for a large group, the amount will only be pre-authorized on the credit card used to secure the reservation. In this timeframe, the Launchtrip App will invite your friends via SMS prompt to approve the trip and submit the amount they owe. Please note, your invitees have 48 hours to make their payment, after which the remaining amount is applied to your credit card.
How will I get my confirmation and receipt?
You will be emailed your confirmation and receipt.
I am experiencing billing issues.
First, ensure your credit card details are input correctly and up to date. If you are making a payment for a large amount, you may need to notify your bank or make sure there is enough room to authorize the full group amount. Don’t worry, this amount won’t be charged to your account just yet, but the authorization is necessary to complete the booking.

The amount on the receipt doesn’t match the charge on my statement?
Launchtrip uses Stripe as our online payment company, which also manages all credit card-related issues. Any billing issues will be managed by Stripe and your bank and/or credit card company. A common reason for mismatched amounts is due to transaction fees charged by your bank when the card issuer and the "merchant location" (as defined by the card brand, e.g. Visa, MasterCard, American Express) are in different countries.
